ADAM Murray insists the homework on Kidderminster Harriers’ opening day opponents has already begun after the club’s fixtures for the 2025/26 season were revealed.
Harriers will host Scarborough Athletic on the opening weekend of the National League North season.
And while new Harriers boss Murray has not paid too much attention to his side’s schedule, he is looking forward to starting his reign in charge of the club with a home game at Aggborough.
Murray said: “I’m not an overthinker when it comes to the fixtures, people overthink it and think too much into ‘we’re playing them there and then we’ve got that run at the end’.
“For us to be at home on the opening day is nice, we’ve got to turn up now and do the job.
“I haven’t looked too much into the fixtures but it makes it real, as coaches, players and supporters we wait for fixtures day because everything becomes real then.
“Your pre-season brain switches into your proper work brain because you know what you’re preparing for.
“The homework on Scarborough will start now and we’ll get to their pre-season games and make sure we’re right.”

Prior to their opening game of the season, Harriers have lined up six friendly matches.
The first of these sees Harrriers travel to Droitwich Spa on Tuesday, July 15 with kick-off at 7.45pm at the King George Playing Fields.
Kidderminster will also play pre-season matches against Shrewsbury Town, Worcester City, Stourbridge and Halesowen Town.
Droitwich will provide Murray with the first chance to see his side in action on the pitch since he replaced Phil Brown in the Aggborough dugout.
And while Murray has prioritised work on the training pitch in pre-season thus far, the new Harriers boss insists his players are ready to return to action next week.
Murray added: “I’ve been really pleased with everything so far, the quality of every sessions has been top drawer.
“We’re blessed with a core group of experienced lads who have got really high standards and drive every session.
“We’re looking forward to getting into the pre-season games, I wanted an extra week of full training without a game so we’re probably a week behind other teams.
“But we’ll make that up as pre-season goes on, we’ve managed to get more work done on the training ground.
“We want to take everything to the next level. It becomes real when you start getting into the games.”
