PHIL Brown felt his Kidderminster Harriers side ‘didn’t show up’ during their 1-0 defeat against Darlington.

A late goal from Cedric Main dented the home side’s promotion hopes at Aggborough although Harriers remain top of the National League North table on goal difference.

And Brown felt his side did not trouble the visitors enough and want his players to work harder both on and off the ball.

Brown said: “I didn’t for one minute underestimate them, we knew they were going to be a tough gig.

“They deserved to win because we didn’t work the opposition enough when we had good possession.

“It don’t think it was a bridge too far or a game too much, we didn’t show up and I’m disappointed in that.

“We weren’t on the front foot and we weren’t positive enough with the ball, it was lazy at times.

“It’s not back to the drawing board it’s just back to hard work.”

The game’s only goal came on 77 minutes when Main beat the offside trap and steadied himself before coolly picking out the bottom left corner from 12-yards out.

Kidderminster are next in action against Oxford City on Saturday, January 25 with kick-off at 3pm at the MGroup Stadium.
