PHIL Brown dedicated Kidderminster Harriers’ 2-0 win against King’s Lynn Town to late BBC Hereford and Worcester commentator Steve Miller.

Miller, known as ‘the voice of the Harriers’, died on Saturday (February 22) and covered Harriers up until Christmas last year.

Goals from debutant Kyle Morrison and Reece Devine saw Kidderminster end their four-game losing run at Aggborough.

The result lifts Harriers back into the National League North play-off places with Kidderminster now sixth in the table.

And Brown dedicated the win to Miller and felt his side put on a display worthy of his commentary.

Brown said: “It’s only appropriate that we pay tribute to Steve Miller.

“It was a lovely gesture before kick-off but a fitting gesture because of his service to the football club and to the game of football itself.

“I would like to dedicate the win to Steve and his family.

“The performance was worthy of Steve’s commentary, he was a very upbeat guy and he said the right thing at the right time.

“We needed to steer the ship back on course, it was chalk and cheese [from the last performance].”

Kidderminster broke the deadlock on 12 minutes when new signing Morrison powered home a header from a corner to put the home side in front.

And Devine doubled Harriers lead on 53 minutes as burst into the box and lashed a shot into the roof of the net.

Kidderminster are next in action against Farsley Celtic on Sunday, March 2 with kick-off at 3pm at Silverlands Stadium.
