PHIL Brown admits Kidderminster Harriers final game of the season will be one of the biggest matches he has ever been involved in.

Harriers know victory against Southport on the final day will secure the National League North title.

Kidderminster hammered local rivals Hereford 5-1 on Easter Monday to remain top of the table and set up a title showdown on the final day.

Brown’s side sit above Brackley Town on goal difference while Scunthorpe United sit two points further back.

Only a win would guarantee Harriers the title, a draw would allow either Brackley or Scunthorpe to snatch top spot if they win elsewhere.

Harriers hold a significant goal difference advantage over Brackley and are five goals clear of Scunthorpe meaning a draw could open the door for the latter side to pounce.

Kidderminster play a Southport side who sit down in 19th place and have failed to win any of their last six league matches while Harriers enter the fixture on a 13-game unbeaten run.

Brackley host already-relegated Farsley Celtic who sit bottom of the table.

And Scunthorpe travel to Hereford with the latter side still chasing a play-off spot despite suffering a heavy defeat against Harriers on Easter Monday.

Brown admits the club’s most recent league defeat against Spennymoor back in late February proved a turning point in the club’s season.

And Brown is looking forward to the occasion as he targets a third promotion as a manager with Harriers aiming to return to the National League at the first attempt.

Brown said: “It’s one of the biggest games I’ve been involved in, we’ve got to go to Southport and win.

“In the vain of form that we’re in, hopefully we turn up, it’s another game of football.

“We haven’t looked back since being comprehensively beaten by Spennymoor.

“A few home truths were fired at us the following day and they’ve stuck. The response is there for everybody to see.

“We’re looking forward to it, all we’ve got to do now is focus on one game.”

Kidderminster make the trip to Southport on Saturday, April 26 with kick-off at 3pm at the Big Help Stadium.
