NATTY Hewett’s late goal rescued a point for Stourport Swifts in a dramatic 2-2 draw at Atherstone Town.
Substitute Hewett came off the bench to equalise two minutes from time after Darryl Knights’ late penalty kept Swifts in the contest at the GAM Civils Stadium.
The result means Stourport sit seventh in the Midland Football League Premier Division table.
Atherstone struck twice in the space of six second-half minutes to take command of the game courtesy of goals from Lewis Collins and Ryan Harkin.
However, the visitors halved the deficit on 82 minutes when Knights fired a penalty into the top left corner of the goal.
And Swifts drew level on 88 minutes as Hewett’s shot from the edge of the penalty area looped over the goalkeeper and into the net.
Stourport are next in action away at Dudley Town on Tuesday, October 1 with kick-off at 7.45pm at Noose Lane.
