STOURPORT Boat Club are busy preparing for their annual regatta now in its 149th year.
The regatta first took place in 1876 and has remained an annual fixture on the calendar ever since.
This year’s regatta takes place on the weekend of August 9 and 10.
Local clubs from Evesham, Warwick, Bridgnorth, Shrewsbury, Bewdley, Minerva Bath and Loughborough will all take part.
And the regatta has also attracted London-based crews from Putney and Auriol Kensington and from as far away as Greenbank Falmouth in Truro.
As many as 2,000 competitors could take to the water with racing to take place in all boat types from singles, fours and eights.
Entertainment will also take place at the club in the evening after the rowing has taken place on Saturday, August 9.
