KIDDERMINSTER Chess Club held their annual quick-play tournament earlier this week.
The seven-round event saw each player have five minutes on their clock in each game.
Some 14 players took part as the top two seeds duly finished in first and second place.
Joseph Friar retained the trophy after winning all seven of his matches.
And John Wrench finished as runner-up with six wins from seven games.
Dave Close took third place with four and a half points while Brandon Wilkes and Paul Hicken tied for fourth.
