VOLUNTARY organisations, charities, clubs and community groups in Bewdley are being urged to apply for grant funding.
Bewdley Town Council is offering funding of up to £1,000 to organisations from a £10,000 total Community Grants pot.
The annual grants scheme is designed to support a wide range of projects and activities which benefit the local community. They will help organisations continue their valuable work and deliver schemes that enhance life in and around Bewdley.
The funding can be used for buying equipment, training, transport costs, special events and celebrations, activities that promote the town and projects that provide community benefit.
In addition, £1,000 of the overall grants budget has been specifically set aside for environmental and sustainability projects.
Bewdley Town Clerk, Tracy Bodley, said: “The town council recognises the tremendous contribution made by local groups, charities and volunteers throughout our community.
“We are keen to support organisations that make a positive difference to residents’ lives and would encourage eligible groups to consider applying.”
The council acknowledges there are rules and requirements which applicants must satisfy as part of the process.
How to apply
Applications must be supported by the appropriate documentation. This includes financial information and evidence relating to the project or activity being funded. These requirements ensure public funds are awarded fairly, transparently and in accordance with the council’s Grant Awarding Policy.
Applications are welcomed from organisations operating within Bewdley or within five miles of the town boundary where there is a significant benefit to Bewdley residents.
Groups considering an application are encouraged not to be deterred by the process. They should contact Bewdley Town Council if they require guidance on the eligibility criteria or application requirements.
Completed applications must be received by July 10.
