THE LATEST video by a Bewdley fish and chip shop, featuring their ‘chip shop diva’ and a ‘foot-long chip butty baguette’ has gone viral online.
In the video, Merchants Chippy staff member Destiny Harrold – aka the chip shop diva – created the quirky chip butty using a foot-long tiger bread baguette.
The video has gained more than 630,000 views on Facebook, 407,000 on TikTok and a further 500,000 on the chip shop’s Instagram account.
As well as chips, the sandwich includes butter, mushy peas, mini battered sausage bites, chicken curry, cheese and gravy,
The video has gained so much attention that Merchants has asked customers if the quirky chip butty should become a part of their menu.
Other quirky video ideas from Merchants Fish and Chips have included a battered jacket potato, a triple layered battered fish and battered Cadbury’s Creme Eggs.
‘Chip shop diva’ Destiny has gained huge success through posting videos similar to this for years.
The 21-year-old, who has been working at Merchants since she was 16, has gained 256,000 followers on TikTok and has garnered millions of views online.
The first Merchants promotional video featuring Destiny was published back in 2024 and, within ten days, had amassed over 25.7million views.
Her ascent to online fame has seen her create a video where she teaches rap star Professor Green how to serve chips at Merchants.
She has also collaborated with Dacia, where she served free chippy chips using a fryer powered by a car battery.
