PAUL Wotton ‘can’t wait’ to manage Kidderminster Harriers at home for the first time following three successive away games.
Wotton will manage Harriers from the touchline at Aggborough for the first time in midweek since his appointment in May.
Kidderminster have won all three of their pre-season games so far without conceding ahead of hosting Alvechurch at Aggborough in midweek.
And Wotton is looking forward to taking charge of his first home game as Kidderminster boss.
Wotton said: “I can’t wait. I’m looking forward to it.
“The pitch looks magnificent there at the moment and whilst these [away games] are all good exercises, there’s nothing like playing at home.
“I’m really looking forward to it. It’s obviously my first game there and lots of the players’ first game there as well.
“Like I said, the pitch there is tremendous so, as long as there’s no hosepipe ban, looking forward to getting some water on it and getting the ball flying about.”
Harriers cruised to a 5-0 win at Stratford Town in the club’s latest pre-season outing.
And Wotton hopes to have Zak Brown, Owen Evans and Ollie Tipton available for the Alvechurch game after the trio missed the Stratford trip as a precautionary measure.
Wotton added: “We got through it injury free, there was some good finishing and all of the players showed a really good attitude.
“The attitude and application was really good. We played some good stuff on a rock hard pitch.
“We’re not going to have a 30-man squad, it’s important the lads can fill in in different areas.
“No one questioned, argued or sulked and lots of players did very well in positions that were alien to them.”
Kidderminster host Alvechurch on Tuesday, July 28 with kick-off at 7pm at Aggborough.
