STOURPORT Hockey Club’s respective teams brought a close to the 2024/25 season after playing their final league fixtures.
The ladies’ 2nds came from a goal down to triumph 3-1 against Northampton Saints 1sts in their final Midland Division One game of the season.
Saints broke the deadlock on 15 minutes when Laura Cave scored following a succession of penalty corners.
Stourport trailed by a single goal at the break but drew level from a penalty corner when a junior player deflected the ball into the net.
The home side completed the turnaround on 50 minutes as Abby Webb fired a shot into the net.
And Stourport extended their lead on 61 minutes when Emily Meese received the ball at the top of the D and superbly deflected a shot past the Saints goalkeeper.
The victory means Stourport finish the season in sixth place just six points behind Boots 1sts who claimed the runners-up spot behind champions Loughborough Students 3rds.
And Stourport’s ladies 3rds ended their Midlands Division Three South West campaign in eighth place following a 1-1 draw against Bournville and Kings Heath 1sts.
Elsewhere, the men’s 2nds lost 7-1 against Old Halesonians 1sts in the Midlands Division Three West.
Stourport trailed by four goals at the break before Daniel Kilby-Tyre pulled a goal back only for Old Halesonians to score three more times before the final whistle.
The result leaves the men 12th in table.
Stourport’s men’s 3rds drew 1-1 against Old Halesonians 2nds in Midlands Division Six South West as Harrison Pritchard’s goal helped the club achieve a sixth-place finish.
And the men’s 4ths lost 7-1 away at West Bromwich 2nds in the Midlands Division Seven South West Division as David Henderson scored Stourport’s only goal.
The result means the men’s 4ths finish the campaign in seventh place.
