Chess players sought for Bewdley Mayor's juniors tournaments

CHESS players are being sought for a tournament taking place in Bewdley at the start of next month.

The Mayor of Bewdley’s Junior Charity Chess Tournament and Worcestershire Junior Championship will take place from 10am to 5pm at St George’s Hall, Load Street Bewdley.

The one contest will be for under 18s and the other for under 12s.

There will be cash prizes and trophies.

Proceeds from the event will go towards the Mayor of Bewdley, Coun Sharon Harvey’s, chosen charities. These include Bewdley Dementia Support Group, St George’s Hall, Bewdley, Pets as Therapy and Wyre Horseways.

Entrants will need to be a member of the English Chess Federation.
