Former Motorcycle Mart, Kidderminster to turn into charity shop

A BID to turn a former motorcycle store in Kidderminster into a charity shop and storage hub has been approved.

Wyre Forest District Council has green lit the change of use of the former Motorcycle Mart on Oldington Trading Estate into a charity shop.

Motorcycle Mart closed in August 2023 following the retirement of the former owner.

The motorcycle retailer also had a service and MOT centre.

The site was deemed suitable due to the intention of the charity to reflect the demand for bulky goods such as beds, wardrobes, bookshelves and desks.

The charity shop currently has town centre stores, but they only have so much room within them.

The site will also operate as a storage and distribution hub for the charity.

The name of the charity shop in question is not mentioned at any point in the planning documents.

The council’s decision to grant full approval was confirmed on June 26.
