THE FREE Music in the Park events return to Riverside Meadows, Stourport-on-Severn, starting this Sunday, July 19.
Kicking off the programme, performing between 2pm and 4pm, will be the Stourport-on-Severn Brass Band – a long established group which has been entertaining audiences across Worcestershire and the West Midlands for decades with its varied and crowd-pleasing repertoire.
They will be performing a variety of music, from well-known classics to uplifting favourites.
A spokesperson for Wyre Forest District Council, which is organising the event, urged visitors to take along a picnic and a blanket or a chair.
They said: “It’s the kind of music that’s easy to enjoy – whether you’re listening closely or just letting it set the tone for a relaxing afternoon outdoors.”
The free music performances will run every Sunday from this one to August 30.
The Music in the Park will also come to Kidderminster’s Brinton Park next Sunday, July 26, also from 2pm to 4pm – first up is Bewdley Concert Band
The events coincide with Love Parks Week, which runs from July 24 to August 2, Keep Britain Tidy’s national celebration of parks and green spaces.
The campaign highlights the important role parks play in supporting physical and mental wellbeing, bringing communities together and providing valuable spaces for nature.
The spokesperson added: “Whether you’re meeting friends, enjoying a family picnic or simply relaxing with live music in the sunshine, our parks offer the perfect place to connect with your community and make the most of summer.”
