KIDDERMINSTER’S Dan Rowbottom endured a frustrating second weekend in the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) at Brands Hatch.
Rowbottom failed to finish in the top-10 of all three races as he crossed the line 13th, 15th and 17th across the weekend.
The Kidderminster driver started the weekend with a 15th-place finish as he became embroiled in a number of wheel-to-wheel battles.
Race conditions worsened ahead of race two as Rowbottom recorded the fastest lap despite crossing the line in 13th place.
And Rowbottom finished the weekend with a 17th-place finish despite making an impressive start which saw him gain five places on the opening lap.
Rowbottom said: “It’s certainly not been the weekend that I had hoped for but we just have to take it on the chin, understand why perhaps things didn’t go my way and then move on to the next event.
“Getting pinged for track limits in qualifying meant that we were a little out of position for the qualifying race and that then snowballs the weekend because you’re in the midfield, getting caught up in other peoples incidents, etc.
“Throw into the mix the challenging weather conditions as well and you can see why we never got a proper run at things.
“What’s important is that we’ve learnt a lot about the car this weekend and hopefully that should put us in good stead for Snetterton.”
The BTCC season continues at Snetterton over the weekend of May 23 to 24.
