KIDDERMINSTER Chess Club welcomed players to the club’s annual handicap tournament with a good turnout recorded.
Higher-ranked players have significantly less time in their clock owing to the special conditions of the event.
A total of 16 players took part as Joseph Friar emerged victories with eight wins from as many rounds.
And Paul Hicken and Brandon Wilkes tied for second place with six points apiece.
The club have also confirmed a venue change from the start of next month with meets on Mondays to take place at Kidderminster Harriers Social and Supporters Club.
The venue is located at Stadium Close on Hoo Road.
New members of all levels are welcome to join the club.
