ADAM Murray felt Kidderminster Harriers looked ‘disjointed’ after slipping to a 3-2 defeat away at relegation-threatened Oxford City.
Harriers led after just eight seconds courtesy of Kieren Donnelly’s header before Emeka Obi restored the away side’s lead after Josh Ashby had drawn Oxford level at the MGroup Stadium.
However, fine goals from DJ Sturridge and O’Shea Ellis turned the game on its head after the break.
And the result means Kidderminster sit third in the National League North table, eight points clear of the chasing pack in the race for a play-off spot.
The nature of Kidderminster’s performance shocked Harriers boss Murray who felt neither side had control of the game in a chaotic affair.
Murray said: “I think the word is chaotic. I’m not sure I’ve witnessed a game like that this season.
“It was totally out of control for both teams. The ball just spent most of the time bouncing in the middle of the park.
“I don’t think there were any chances in the game but there’s been five goals.
“I’m bewildered. I’m not sure what’s actually taken place in that game.
“We looked like a disjointed outfit which we haven’t been all season.
“I’m in a little bit of shock because I’m not used to seeing that.”
Harriers have now won just one of their last four league matches with a run of five consecutive away fixtures to end at Spennymoor Town in midweek.
And Murray hopes he and his players will use the defeat against Oxford as a warning heading into the final few games of the campaign.
Murray added: “We weren’t good enough but we’ve had a bug in the camp.
“The backline was disjointed, we wanted to keep the continuity but we had to move the backline around.
“I felt we had new people in the team who haven’t really trained with us and don’t know what we’re about.
“There was always going to be a case for that because when you make changes at this time in the season it’s going to take people a few sessions to get up to speed.
“We just weren’t good enough all around the park. None of us were good enough, the players, the staff. I hope everybody takes that as a warning.”
Kidderminster are next in action against Spennymoor Town on Tuesday, March 31 with kick-off at 7.45pm at the Brewery Field.
