ADAM Murray praised a ‘really big performance’ from his side after Kidderminster Harriers claimed an impressive win at Darlington in midweek.
Goals from David Davis and Ryley Reynolds helped Harriers move up to third in the National League North table at Blackwell Meadows.
Harriers saw their weekend fixture against Radcliffe abandoned but responded to the difficult circumstances with a victory against play-off hopefuls Darlington.
And Murray felt all of his players performed well to help the club return to winning ways.
Murray said: “We need different types of performances in the run we’re in and it was a little bit different again.
“We came with a gameplan to play on the counter a little bit and that’s where the goals have come from.
“It was a really big performance. You’re always going to have to ride your luck a little bit, we grew into the game.
“We tweaked a few things at half time which made us a little more stable. I was really proud of everyone.
“We looked really dangerous on the counter, if we could have got that final pass right we would have had a couple more goals.
“I’m really chuffed for the boys, it was just an all-round good game of top performances.”
The visitors broke the deadlock just 28 seconds after the break as half-time substitute Davis raced through and kept his cool to find the net from Kieren Donnelly’s pass.
And the away side eventually sealed the points five minutes from time as Reynolds charged down the left, cut in and curled a shot into the right corner of the net.
Harriers saw their weekend fixture against Radcliffe abandoned following a clash of heads between goalkeeper Christian Dibble and defender Joe Foulkes.
Both players were taken to hospital and have since been discharged. Dibble sustained a concussion while Foulkes suffered a fractured eye socket and cheekbone.
Kidderminster acted quickly to sign goalkeeper Jamie Pardington on an emergency loan from Lincoln City for a seven-day period.
And Murray praised the on-loan shot stopper’s confidence as Pardington triumphed against Darlington for the third time this season.
Murray added: “Pards coming in, for his first game, was tremendous.
“For someone coming in who has had one training session, to have that dominance in coming for crosses.
“To be that composed, especially with his starting position for some of the through balls.
“He was different class.”
Kidderminster are next in action against Oxford City on Saturday, March 28 with kick-off at 3pm at the MGroup Stadium.
