ASHLEY Hemmings wants to create more ‘great times’ at Kidderminster Harriers after the popular striker returned to the club on loan.
Hemmings has returned to Harriers on loan from National League South side Dagenham and Redbridge until the end of January.
The 34-year-old departed Aggborough for Dagenham for an undisclosed fee in the summer transfer window.
However, the veteran forward has now returned to Harriers where he scored 94 goals in 246 appearances across more than five years in his first spell with the club.
He netted 34 goals in all competitions last season as Kidderminster just missed out on promotion to the National League.
And Hemmings believes Harriers can go one step further and achieve promotion to the National League this season.
Hemmings said: “The opportunity came for me to come home. It’s one of those that’s been on my mind for the last couple of weeks.
“Everyone who knows me, knows how much Kiddy means to me. It was always going to be a hard decision to move to Dagenham.
“The best thing was for me to come back to Kiddy. I just want to come back and show everyone I can still do it.
“We came close last year. I think we can go that one step closer [this season].
“I’ve had great moments and great times at Kiddy and I want to continue that now.”
Hemmings will once again play under Harriers boss Adam Murray after the pair previously worked together at both Mansfield Town and Boston United.
And Murray hopes Hemmings will bring some much-needed firepower to his side’s attack.
Murray added: “He wanted to come back, he was hungry to come back and we were keen to get him back.
“We’re all aware we’ve not scored enough goals this season – not for the want of trying.
“Ash has been consistently in double figures over the last five years.
“I hope he comes in and does that again for us. Ash loves the club and we’ve signed a very good player.”
Hemmings could make his second Harriers debut when Kidderminster travel to South Shields on Saturday, December 6 with kick-off at 3pm at Mariners Park.
