DAVID Davis scored a first-half brace as Kidderminster Harriers returned to winning ways with a 2-0 victory against Scarborough Athletic.
Davis netted twice in the first half to put Harriers in command as Adam Murray’s side stretched their unbeaten run to 10 matches at the Mounting Systems Stadium.
The result means Kidderminster sit fourth in the National League North table, 13 points behind leaders South Shields with a game in hand.
Scarborough had the game’s first chance as Lewis Maloney lifted a free-kick over the wall and straight into the arms of Christian Dibble.
However, Harriers broke the deadlock on 24 minutes when Davis reacted quickest to force the ball over the line after Scarborough failed to deal with a free-kick into the box.
The visitors continued to come forward as Ashley Hemmings held off a number of challenges only to see his effort blocked from inside the penalty area.
And Kidderminster doubled their lead on 42 minutes as Davis saw his deflected effort from Reece Devine’s cross fly into the net as the midfielder grabbed his second of the game.
Harriers almost added a third goal before the break when George Walker chased a lost cause and ghosted in-between two defenders only to find the side netting from a tight angle.
The visitors remained on top after the break as Scarborough goalkeeper Ryan Whitley also pushed Hemmings’ outside-of-the-boot effort from the edge of the penalty area to safety.
Scarborough’s only real chance in the second period saw Harry Green meet a low cross as the ball rolled inches past the post.
Harriers searched for a third goal as defender Emeka Obi superbly brought down a deep cross in the box only to shoot across goal and wide of the post.
Whitley denied Walker late on before debutant Danny Waldron saw his ball just evade Davis in the box as the midfielder looked to complete a hat-trick.
