KIEREN Donnelly scored his first goal for Kidderminster Harriers as the Reds produced a dominant home performance to convincingly dispatch Peterborough Sports 4-0, writes Neil Gordon.

The impressive Donnelly scored on his home debut to add to strikes by Ryley Reynolds and Seb Thompson, before substitute Amari Morgan-Smith sealed the rout in front of former Reds boss Phil Brown.

A crowd of 2,011 watched on as Kidderminster moved to 65 points in fourth place in the National League North table.

Reynolds put Harriers in front after 23 minutes when he clinically fired home to the delight of the North Stand.

That came after he had clipped the Sports crossbar with visiting goalkeeper Peter Crook stranded.

Harriers’ goalkeeper Christian Dibble then kept Peterborough out when he superbly saved from Max Booth.

The Reds doubled their lead on half-time when Thompson blasted home at the second attempt after Crook had parried his initial shot.

Determined Donnelly made it three-nil after the restart when he scored from a tight angle for his first goal in a Reds shirt.

Kidderminster then had three chances to increase the lead in quick succession when first Owen Evans forced a save from Crook.

The loost ball fell to Donnelly who swivelled and struck the base of the post, before Thompson sent the loose ball goalwards only to see his effort blocked on the line.

And Morgan-Smith soon made it four having been set-up by the sheer determination of Emeka Obi, after Devine’s header forced Crook into action from Donnelly’s pinpoint cross.

Donnelly received a deserved standing ovation when replaced by substitute, teenage Reds fan, Bruce Minaker as Aggborough received a glimpse of the positive times ahead.

Kidderminster play Chester at Aggborough on Saturday, March 14. Kick-off is 3pm.
