KIDDERMINSTER Harriers have appointed Mike Edwards as the club’s new assistant manager to boss Paul Wotton.
Edwards reunites with Wotton after the pair previously worked together for two seasons at Torquay United in the National League South.
The former defender made more than 200 appearances for Hull City and passed the 300-game mark for Notts County during his playing career.
He also counts Grimsby Town and Carlisle United among his former clubs before he transitioned to coaching.
Edwards formed part of Wotton’s backroom staff at former side Truro City and followed the latter to Torquay as the pair just missed out on promotion to the National League.
Wotton said: “I’m really pleased. I’ve worked with him at both my previous clubs.
“He’s played over 600 Football League games. He’s a fantastic coach and is amazing at the fitness and nutrition side as well.
“Ultimately, he’s a good guy as well, the lads will love him. I’m thrilled I’m working with him again.
“We’re a team within a team – I’ve met them all [backroom staff] and they all seem very good people with good work ethic and I’m looking forward to getting going.”
