KIDDERMINSTER Harriers have appointed Paul Wotton as the club’s new first team manager to replace former boss Adam Murray.

Harriers achieved promotion to the National League via the play-offs this season only for Murray to depart for Barrow just three days after the club’s play-off final triumph.

And Kidderminster have announced former Truro City and Torquay United boss Wotton as Murray’s replacement.

The 48-year-old missed out on the National League South title on goal difference in his first season in charge of Torquay in 2024/25 at the expense of former side Truro.

Torquay subsequently suffered defeat in the play-off semi-finals to Boreham Wood who went on to achieve promotion.

Wotton had Torquay in title contention again this campaign only for the Gulls to drop from first to fourth which led to his sacking in March with Neil Warnock placed in temporary charge.

Torquay eventually finished third in the table but suffered defeat against Hornchurch in the play-off final.

Wotton moved to Torquay following a near five-year stint in charge of Truro during which time he led the club back to the National League South via the Southern League Division One South play-offs.

Harriers director of football, Dean Holdsworth said: “From our first conversation with myself and the chairman, Paul stood out as exactly the type of leader we wanted for this football club.

“He has the experience, qualifications, standards and mentality to drive us forward, and his ambition matches our own.

“He knows what it takes to build successful, competitive teams and we’re confident he is the right man to lead us into the next challenge, we are looking forward to an exciting new season.”

Wotton made more almost 500 appearances for Plymouth Argyle during his playing career and also featured for Southampton and Yeovil Town.

He won two promotions with Plymouth and lifted the EFL Trophy with Southampton in 2009/10.
