KIDDERMINSTER Harriers came from behind to secure a 2-1 victory against 10-man AFC Telford United on Easter Monday.
After Remi Walker put Telford ahead early on, goals from Charlie Cooper and Kieren Donnelly turned the game in Harriers’ favour at New Bucks Head.
And Telford had Jamie Meddows sent off early in the second half while Amari Morgan-Smith saw a late penalty saved.
The result means Harriers sit third in the National League North table with the club’s play-off spot all but confirmed.
Kidderminster need just a single point from their remaining four matches to seal a top-seven finish.
Harriers went close early on as George Walker burst down the right and David Davis saw his goalbound effort blocked.
Telford responded with a chance of their own as Harriers goalkeeper Rhys Lovett comfortably held Remi Walker’s low effort from the edge of the penalty area.
However, the home side broke the deadlock on 10 minutes when Walker finished Khanya Leshabela’s cross from the right at the back post from close range.
Harriers equalised in style on 21 minutes as Cooper volleyed a dropping ball into the top-right corner from the edge of the penalty area.
The visitors almost completed the turnaround moments later when Walker looked to pounce on a short backpass only for Telford goalkeeper Josh Gracey to make a crucial intervention.
And Kidderminster turned the game on its head on 39 minutes as Donnelly nipped in to beat Gracey to Jordan Piggott’s tame backwards header and finish into an empty net.
Harriers received a boost eight minutes after the break when Meadows saw red for a trip on Walker just outside the penalty area with the latter through on goal.
Cooper blasted the resulting free-kick towards goal as Gracey pushed the ball to safety before Telford eventually cleared their lines.
The visitors won a penalty in injury time when Seb Thompson drew a foul in the box only for Morgan-Smith to see his spot kick saved by Gracey, diving low to his right.
