KIDDERMINSTER Harriers exited the FA Cup at the first hurdle following a 3-1 defeat against divisional rivals AFC Telford United.

A late goal from Tobi Sho-Silva kept Harriers in the second round qualifying tie only for Telford to seal their place in the next round deep into injury time at New Bucks Head.

That came after goals from Rhys Hilton and Orrin Pendley put the home side in command as Harriers suffered just their second defeat in all competitions this season.

Harriers had the ball in the net after just two minutes only for Kurt Willoughby’s close-range strike to be ruled out for offside.

Telford broke the deadlock on 23 minutes when Hilton fired into the roof of the net from close range after Kidderminster failed to deal with a low ball into the box from the left.

And the home side doubled their lead on 68 minutes as Pendley produced an instinctive overhead kick which looped into the bottom left corner from eight-yards out.

Harriers halved the deficit three minutes from time when substitute Sho-Silva rose highest to head in a cross from the right and score his first goal for the club.

However, Kidderminster goalkeeper Christian Dibble received a straight red card in injury time after he handled the ball outside the box.

The visitors pushed for an equaliser at the death and sent everyone up for a corner deep into time added on.

However, Telford broke on the counter attack as Charlie Williams finished into an empty net to dump Harriers out of the competition.

Kidderminster are next in action against Buxton on Saturday, September 20 with kick-off at 3pm at Aggborough.
