KIDDERMINSTER Harriers romped to a remarkable 6-2 win against National League strugglers Morecambe to advance in the FA Trophy.
Harriers scored five goals before half time and added a sixth after the break in a clinical display from Adam Murray’s side at Aggborough.
Goals from Reece Devine, Emeka Obi, Toby Onanaye, David, Davis, Ryley Reynolds and Paul Kalambayi helped Harriers reach the fifth round of the competition.
A penalty from Admiral Muskwe and late strike from Miguel Azeez proved merely consolation goals for the visitors who find themselves in the National League relegation zone.
And the win means Harriers will play another National League side in the fifth round as a trip to Halifax Town awaits at the end of the month.
The rearranged clash took place in midweek after Storm Goretti put pay to the original weekend date.
Kidderminster made the perfect start when Devine picked up the ball on the left and curled a shot across goal and into the corner with the outside of his boot with the game just three minutes old.
Harriers spurned a couple of chances soon after as Reynolds headed over and Davis flashed a shot inches over the top from 20-yards out.
And the home side deservedly doubled their lead on 24 minutes when Obi helped the ball over the line unmarked at the back post from Owen Evans’ corner.
Harriers struck again four minutes later as Onanaye marked his first start for the club with a goal as he produced a composed finish after the ball broke kindly to the loanee in the box.
However, Morecambe kept themselves in the fourth round tie on 31 minutes when Muskwe scored from the spot after Joe Foulkes committed a foul in the box.
Davis twice went close to extending the home side’s lead as he saw a shot parried by Morecambe stopper Archie Mair before crashing an effort against the crossbar when through one-on-one.
However, the veteran midfielder was not to be denied a third time as he powered home George Walker’s cross in first-half injury time.
And Harriers scored a fifth goal before the break when Reynolds reacted sharply to smash a loose ball into the net after Onanaye saw his initial effort blocked.
Kidderminster scored a sixth goal on 51 minutes as Kalambayi finished at the back post after Morecambe failed to deal with a corner.
Morecambe grabbed a consolation goal seven minutes from time when Azeez struck from distance but the night belonged to Harriers who secured an eighth straight win in all competitions.
Kidderminster are next in action against Worksop Town on Saturday, January 17 with kick-off at 3pm at Aggborough.
