LUKE Spokes scored the only goal as Kidderminster Harriers secured their first away win of the season with a 1-0 victory at Curzon Ashton.

Spokes struck on 75 minutes at Tameside Stadium as Harriers sealed back-to-back wins for the first time this season.

The result means Kidderminster sit seventh in the National League North table.

The home side spurned an early chance to take the lead as Tony Weston blazed a shot wide of the target from inside the box.

And Jordan Tunnicliffe then headed Jimmy Spencer’s powerful effort off the line.

At the other end, Seb Thompson cut in from the right and curled a shot well over the crossbar.

Harriers goalkeeper Christian Dibble then made a crucial save to keep out Charlie Weston’s shot on the stroke of half time.

The home side went close again after the break as substitute Brad Holmes sent a volley inches past the post.

However, Kidderminster broke the deadlock 15 minutes from time when Spokes lashed a low effort into the bottom left corner from 20-yards out.

Kidderminster are next in action against King’s Lynn Town on Tuesday, September 2 with kick-off at 7.45pm at The Walks.
