KIDDERMINSTER Harriers saw their weekend fixture against Radcliffe abandoned in the second half after two Harriers players required hospital treatment.

A collision between goalkeeper Christian Dibble and defender Joe Foulkes left both players in need of lengthy treatment on the pitch at Neuven Stadium.

The referee abandoned the fixture, with 70 minutes played at the time of the collision, after the players received around 10 minutes of treatment as an ambulance took both players to hospital.

The score was 1-1 at the time of the abandonment as Owen Evans cancelled out Rio Clegg’s opener from the penalty spot.

Radcliffe broke the deadlock on 25 minutes when Clegg scored from the spot after the referee penalised Evans for handball on the line despite the ball striking the gloves of Dibble.

Harriers equalised one minute before half time as Evans slammed home a loose ball after Reece Devine’s effort hit the post following good work from Seb Thompson.

However, Dibble came and punched a free-kick clear on 70 minutes only to clash heads with Foulkes which left both players unconscious.

Both players later regained consciousness and received hospital treatment while the referee took the decision to abandon the fixture.

Kidderminster are next in action against Darlington on Tuesday, March 24 with kick-off at 7.45pm at Blackwell Meadows.
