KIDDERMINSTER Harriers saw their seven-game unbeaten run come to an end following a 2-1 defeat at Chorley in midweek.

A late goal from Harvey Smith condemned Harriers to defeat after Jack Clarke had scored a late leveller for the visitors at Victory Park.

That came after Sam Bird’s early goal put Chorley ahead as Adam Murray’s side suffered just a second league defeat in their last 18 matches.

The result means Kidderminster sit fourth in the National League North table, seven points clear of the chasing pack in the race for a play-off place.

Chorley broke the deadlock on 18 minutes when Bird’s effort from distance took a wicked deflection and left Christian Dibble with no chance in the Harriers net.

Harriers equalised with five minutes left to play as substitute Clarke smashed home Joe Foulkes’ cross on the volley to draw the visitors level.

However, Chorley reclaimed the lead one minute from time when Dibble attempted to punch a long throw clear only for Smith to head into an empty net from close range.

Kidderminster are next in action against Radcliffe on Saturday, March 21 with kick-off at 3pm at Neuven Stadium.
