KIDDERMINSTER Harriers surrendered a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 away at struggling Southport.

Harriers failed to exact revenge on the Merseyside club at Haig Avenue after defeat at the same ground on the final day of last season denied Harriers the league title.

Goals from Zanda Siziba and Amari Morgan-Smith put Harriers in command at the break only for the home side to stage a second-half comeback.

A quickfire brace from Jordan Slew drew Stourport level with Kidderminster unable to turn the game back in their favour.

The result means Harriers sit seventh in the National League North table, one point clear of the chasing pack in the battle for a play-off place.

Kidderminster broke the deadlock on 17 minutes when Siziba’s drilled effort took a deflection and looped into the net following a corner from the right.

And Harriers doubled their lead in bizarre circumstances on 36 minutes as Morgan-Smith charged down Southport goalkeeper Chris Renshaw’s attempted kick and the ball ricocheted into the net.

However, Southport halved the deficit on 57 minutes when Slew drilled a first time effort past Christian Dibble from just outside the penalty area.

And Slew levelled the game seven minutes later with another low effort from 25-yards out which seemed to catch keeper Dibble by surprise.

Kidderminster are next in action against Marine on Tuesday, November 25 with kick-off at 7.45pm at Rossett Park.
