A NIGHTMARE showing from Kidderminster Harriers saw the Reds thrashed 5-1 by Radcliffe in their first home defeat of the season, writes Neil Gordon.

Kidderminster went into the game two points better off than at this stage of last season, but boos rang out at full-time along with calls for the manager to go after they conceded four goals at corners.

Kurt Willoughby’s first-half strike gave Kidderminster hope at 2-0 down, but Emeka Obi’s second-half dismissal ended any come-back.

For Radcliffe, Danny Greenfield and David Bull combined to put the visitors in early command, while Jordan Hulme added a third on 25-minutes. Lois Maynard and Rio Clegg then struck at the death to complete the misery.

A crowd of 2,667 at Aggborough saw Kidderminster slip to ninth in the National League North table on 16 points.

Greenfield put Radcliffe ahead with a sublime finish from distance on 12-minutes after Harriers Tobi Sho-Silva had glanced a header wide.

Worse was to follow when Ball doubled Radcliffe’s advantage at a corner.

Willoughby kept Kidderminster afloat with a composed finish on 22-minutes to end a great three-man move, but the Reds joy was brief as Hulme promptly put Radcliffe 3-1 up.

Kidderminster regrouped and Dan Mooney’s shot forced a good save while Willoughby fired over from a tight angle.

And after the interval any Harriers comeback evaporated when Obi received a second yellow card on the hour for a high boot after a genuine attempt for the ball at a corner.

Radcliffe then struck twice at the death with Maynard and Clegg scoring easily at corners to inflict a painful 5-1 defeat on a sorry looking Harriers, as Aggborough emptied and home fans vented their fury.

Kidderminster next face Chester at the Deva Stadium on Saturday, October 18. Kick-off is at 3pm.
