LEWIS Walker insists he has come to Kidderminster Harriers to score goals after becoming the club’s fourth summer signing.

The striker will make the move to Aggborough from Braintree Town on July 1 when his contracted at the relegated National League club expires.

Walker ended the season in fine form as he scored five goals in nine games despite Braintree”s struggles on the pitch.

And Walker hopes to play through the middle under Harriers boss Paul Wotton after playing in a wide role for much of last season at Braintree.

Walker said: “That’s the reason I’m here [to score goals]. It’s something I love to do, I love to play football and I love to score goals.

“Hopefully I get a fair few this season. You always want to score more goals.

“To get to double figures the last two seasons is something I’m quite proud of.

“Growing up as I always an out-and-out number nine. The team I was at last season, I played on the wing a lot.

“I kind of just stood up front and ran in behind target men. In terms of a typical winger I’m really not great but if you want me to run in behind then I can do that all day long.”

Walker cannot wait to play in front of the Aggborough faithful and stressed the importance of keeping his spirits high as he looks to reach double figures for goals again in 2026/27.

Walker added: “Infrastructure wise, the place is brilliant. I don’t think we’re quite done with recruitment yet so we’re looking forward to more players coming in.

“I definitely learnt a lot last season. It was a tough season and it happens over the whole season.

“It’s important to keep spirits high after every game and I managed to do that and keep going until the very last game which got me into double figures [for goals].

“I’ve heard the fanbase is amazing so I’m really excited to play in front of them and show what I can do.”
