RYLEY Reynolds rescued Kidderminster Harriers at the death as the Reds claimed a dramatic 3-2 bank holiday victory against Leamington, writes Neil Gordon.
Super sub Reynolds scored a stoppage time winner after the Reds let a two-goal lead slip late on, after seemingly being in command through an own goal and Jordan Tunnicliffe’s strike.
However, visitors Leamington had other ideas and Owen Farmer curled home a free kick to give the Brakes hope, before a stoppage time equaliser from Ethan Hill appeared to deny Harriers victory.
The result sees Kidderminster sit 10th in the National League North table on eight points.
Harriers probed Leamington from the wide areas early on as they looked to bounce back from a 2-1 defeat at AFC Fylde 48-hours earlier.
The opening goal arrived when the unfortunate Theo Streete riffled the ball into his own net after a dangerous cross from Seb Thompson on the right.
The Reds continued to plug away without troubling the Leamington goal, while the away side’s only chance was a fierce rising strike from Dan Meredith which Christian Dibble diverted over the bar.
After the interval Tunnicliffe doubled Harriers’ lead when he scored at close range from a corner.
Farmer then gave Leamington hope when he buried a free-kick after being brought down by Tunnicliffe following a mistake by Emeka Obi.
After a drinks break temperatures continued to rise and Hill equalised for Leamington in stoppage time after the Reds had failed to clear their lines.
And the drama wasn’t over as Reynolds came up with a dramatic last-gasp winner from another corner to get Harriers out of jail and send Aggborough wild.
Kidderminster are next in action against Curzon Ashton on Saturday, August 30 with kick-off 3pm at The Tameside Stadium.
