STOURPORT Hockey Club’s first teams delivered improved results and performances in their latest outings.
The men’s first team drew 2-2 against University of Birmingham 2nds in the Midlands Conference League.
Birmingham took the lead from a penalty corner only for Stourport to equalise with a composed finish.
And captain Andy Cavendish scored from a penalty corner to completed the turnaround in the second half with Birmingham down to nine players.
However, Birmingham converted a penalty stroke moments later to restore parity as the game ended all square.
Stourport’s men’s second XI suffered a 5-1 defeat against Sutton Coldfield 2nds in the Midlands Division Four West.
The home side found themselves a goal behind within the first five minutes from a short corner.
Sutton added three further goals to take a commanding lead before new signing Barney Wright scored a consolation goal for Stourport.
And the visitors stuck again late on to add some gloss to the scoreline.
The men’s fourth XI lost 5-2 against Bromsgrove 3rds in the Midlands Division Seven South West.
Bromsgrove took a two-goal lead at the interval only for Stourport’s Neil Farquharson to draw the visitors level with a quickfire brace after the break.
However, Bromsgrove struck three more times before the final whistle to take the points.
Elsewhere, Stourport’s women’s first team battled to a 2-1 victory against University of Birmingham 2nds on the Midlands Conference League.
The victory marks Stourport’s first win of the season as Kristy Imm struck on the rebound from a penalty corner in the first half.
And Holly Smith put Stourport ahead after the break to secure the points.
