COOKLEY Village Hall is set to get a new floor, thanks to £20,000 from the National Lottery Community Fund.
The hall is extremely popular with a footfall of more than 30,000 people per year but the previous floor was very well worn out.
The hall hosts a range of activities and events, including keep fit and yoga sessions, along with parties, weddings and sports teams.
Angela Dudley, the manager of Cookley Village Hall, said: “The old floor was wearing out and, with our new grant from Community Fund, we have replaced the flooring with new sports oak boards which should last for years to come.”
In addition to the £20,000 grant, the hall received further funding from the Bernard Sunley Foundation to complete the work.
Mrs Dudley added: “We are all very grateful for these grants to keep our village hall up and running for our community and we have already had compliments from many of the users such as the yoga, pilates, Ceroc dancing and table tennis groups.”
