STAFF and students at a Bewdley’s St Anne’s Church of England Primary School and Nursery are celebrating ‘Good’ gradings, writes Shauna Begley.
The school received the marks from both Ofsted and the Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools (SIAMS).
Headteacher Jo Harvey spoke of her pride following the recent inspections, with reports highlighting the school’s caring ethos and ambitious curriculum.
The Ofsted inspection, which took place in June, praised the pupils for their enthusiasm and high levels of engagement. Inspectors also noted pupils enjoyed attending the school and felt staff ‘cared passionately’ about them.
The school’s motto: ‘You are the light of the world’, was found to be evident in all aspects of school life.
Reading was identified as a key priority, with inspectors noting the effective teaching of phonics delivered. The report also highlighted the high standard of care for the youngest children, which helped them to build confidence quickly.
Coming just before the Ofsted visit, the SIAMS report also praised the school’s nurturing environment. It concluded there was a ‘palpable sense of love in the St Anne’s family’, echoing the sentiments of children and parents.
Mrs Harvey said she was ‘incredibly proud’ of the hard work and dedication shown by the leadership team, governors, staff, and the wider community.
She added the positive reports affirmed the school is on the right path towards excellence.
“Our journey together continues as we build on these strong foundations.”
