EAST 17 will help Kidderminster get into the festive spirit as the town hosts its ‘biggest-ever’ Christmas lights switch-on and first Victorian market tomorrow (Saturday, November 15).
The lights on the High Street will be switched on at 6pm and will be the culmination of a packed day of festive fun.
Over at the newly reopened town hall, there will be a performance from Kidderminster’s Chaos Magic at 3.30pm.
At 4pm, East 17, who achieved the UKs Christmas number one with their 1994 hit ‘Stay Another Day’, will be holding a meet and greet.
J’s Dance Factory, the Shanty Crew, and a choir performance will be among the other town hall entertainment throughout the day.
On the High Street centre stage, RetsecroWs, which performs a mix of dirty metal and guitar-driven rock songs, will be the pre-switch-on headliners, with their set beginning at 4.30pm.
From the East End to Kidderminster
Following the switch-on, East 17 will hit the main stage to perform many of their biggest hits.
At 7.15pm, a music band will perform before DJ VIRXN closes out the night with a set an hour later.

The Museum of Carpet will also be getting in the Christmas mood with activities including a festive trail and an arts and crafts session.
From 3pm, the town’s first Victorian market will get under way in Weavers Wharf, featuring festive stalls, free face paint, a fire breather, and stilt walkers.
And tasty treats at the market include international street food as well as free popcorn and candyfloss.
