TWO MEN have been slapped with football banning orders and fined after their ‘appalling behaviour’ after a Kidderminster Harriers match.

Samuel Enderbury 26, of Redwing Court, Kidderminster and Daniel Wyatt, 36, of Lister Road, Kidderminster, were sentenced following an incident on Saturday, September 6 when they were involved in an altercation after the match between Kidderminster Harriers and Macclesfield Town.

Enderbury threw a can of beer at a group of away fans looking to provoke disorder, and Wyatt also acted in a threatening and aggressive manner, making threats of violence towards police officers, who were attempting to maintain order among a large group of supporters.

At Worcester Magistrates Court on Tuesday, February 24, they both pleaded guilty tousing threatening or abusive words or behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress.

Enderbury and Wyatt were banned from attending football matches for four years and ordered to pay £85 costs. Enderbury was fined £160, and Wyatt was fined £40.

The match between Kidderminster and Macclesfield finished 1-1, as Danny Elliott’s last-gasp strike for the away side ensured that the points were shared at Aggborough.

PC Ryan Bridgewood, one of the officers on duty at the time, said: “We are pleased Enderbury and Wyatt have been banned from attending football matches for four years following their appalling behaviour after the game against Macclesfield last September.

“Their actions were designed solely to provoke the away fans into disorder and caused fear and intimidation among those supporters who had just come along to enjoy a Saturday afternoon game, and they threatened police officers with violence too.

“We hope this court result shows we will always act against the minority who want to spoil it for the majority of fans and serve as a reminder to those looking to create disorder you too could face a banning order.”
