AN APPLICATION has been lodged for 418 homes as the second phase of a major development in Kidderminster.
A reserved matters application for the homes on Comberton Road, which would be phase two of the Woven Oaks development, has been submitted to Wyre Forest District Council by Taylor Wimpey.
The plans also contain details for open space, landscaping, drainage and infrastructure.
The application seeks approval for the layout, scale, appearance and landscaping for phase two of the huge development, which, whnewn completed, could see more than 1400 homes built.
Taylor Wimpey has claimed the proposals are in full accordance with the outline approval, relevant planning conditions and local and national policy, and requested that planning permission be granted without delay.
Of the 418 homes, 15 per cent of them- 63 houses- will be affordable.
There will be a mix of 60 per cent social rented, 35 per cent shared ownership and 5 per cent affordable rented properties.
Planning documents reveal there would be six one-bedroom homes, 92 two-bedroom homes, 241 three-bedroom homes and 79 four-bedroom homes.
Each four-bedroom home will be allocated three parking spaces, with two and three-bedroom homes given two spaces and one-bedroom homes given one space.
Garages have been allocated for cycle storage for the four-bedroom and some three-bedroom homes, while all other properties are provided with a shed in the rear garden, large enough for at least two bicycles.
A statement by Taylor Wimpey within planning documents said: “The aspiration for the development is to deliver an attractive, locally distinguishable and sustainable addition to Kidderminster, providing a new and integrated community.
“It is Taylor Wimpey’s vision to deliver much-needed market and affordable homes on an allocated site, providing suitable and sustainable growth that will ensure a positive, quality legacy for Kidderminster.”
Planning permission was granted for phase one of the development last year, and outline planning permission was also given for the remaining phases of the Kidderminster Eastern Extension.
The permission granted full approval for 395 homes, and the outline approval for the remaining phases allowed for up to 1,055 more homes.
In total, the hybrid application provides for up to 1,450 homes across the entire site.
The vision for the site would also include a community hub, including a two-form entry primary school, and community facilities such as drinking establishments and specialist older persons’
accommodation, as well as new vehicular access to Husum Way and Comberton Road.
