A TALK on the ‘Small Pits, Big Ideas’ project will take place at Kidderminster Cricket Club, Chester Road North, on September 23, writes Isabel Matthews.
The presentation will be given by speaker Nina O’Hare from the Worcestershire Archives and Archaeology Service.
The event – the latest in the Wyre Forest Historical Research Group’s programme – was previously advertised as starting at 2pm but it will now start at 2.15pm.
The ‘Small Pits, Big Ideas’ project, which took place between autumn 2021 and the summer of 2022, was funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund.
This talk is based on how six communities in Worcestershire got their hands on local heritage by digging ‘test pits’ in order to find archaeological evidence of medieval Worcestershire. The project included sites in Bewdley and Wolverley
As well as the talk, there will also be an optional themed raffle during the event.
