Bewdley Carnival 100th anniversary- call for volunteer marshals

Tristan Harris 6th Mar, 2026

A RALLYING call has been issued for people to help marshal the Bewdley Carnival which is celebrating the centenary this year since the first recorded Land and River Parade.

The 2026 event will take place in the town on June 27.

Ahead of the event, two marshal meetings are being held where people can find out more about the roles and what they entail.

The first one takes place at 7pm on Monday, March 9, and the second is being held at 12pm next Saturday, March 14.

Both get-togethers are at The Old Waggon and Horses, Wribbenhall.

The carnival organisers said they were hoping to have as many people in the parade as possible.

“Events like these rely on wonderful people from our community helping out, so we hope to see lots of you there next week.

“With both Stourport and Wolverley Carnival not happening this year, it’s so important for us to make Bewdley Carnival a success and a celebration for everyone in Wyre Forest.”
