Bewdley crowned one of UKs best places to live

Ryan Smith 20th Feb, 2026

BEWDLEY has been named among the best places to live in the UK.

The Wyre Forest town has been named as one of only eight in Worcestershire to be named in the 2026 Muddy Stilettos 260 top places to live guide.

In the guide, Bewdley was described as a small Worcestershire town with big pull.

The guide added: “Bewdley is perched on the River Severn with all the charm of a period drama but none of the pretence.

“Its riverside setting oozes character, with indie boutiques, cosy coffee shops and artisan markets adding to the laid-back buzz.

“Nature lovers are spoiled – the Wyre Forest, one of England’s last great ancient woodlands, is right on the doorstep – and weekends here are for paddleboarding, riverside walks or watching the mist roll in with a hot chocolate in hand.

“But it’s far from sleepy: Bewdley hosts lively events year-round, from the River Regatta to the Bewdley Festival, and with great schools, its own train station, and Birmingham just a short hop away, this charming town is fast becoming one of Worcestershire’s most coveted postcodes.”

The Muddy Stilettos guide selects 260 places from 31 different counties and regions across the UK, as well as featuring a ‘best of the rest’ category.

It gives insider intel on the loveliest city spots, towns and villages that feature the best schools, shopping and pubs.

The other Worcestershire areas to be featured were Bromsgrove, Ombersley, Bretforton, Broadway, Malvern, Tenbury Wells and Upton-Upon-Severn.
