Bewdley Museum closed this month for ongoing refurbishment

Ryan Smith 9th Jan, 2026

BEWDLEY Museum will be closed during this month due to ongoing development work.

Work is currently taking place at the front of the museum.

Wyre Forest District Council’s Planning Committee approved improvements back in October.

The new improvements include installing two arched glass windows and a glass double door, which will be set in front of the museum’s Grade II listed gates.

The newly enclosed space will also have added heating and ventilation, and floor levelling will also be carried out where needed.

It is hoped the upgraded porch will enhance the museum’s appearance from the road and deliver new opportunities for temporary exhibitions.

The works are scheduled to be completed in the spring, with updates on when the museum will re-open set to be posted on social media in the coming weeks.
