A SPECIAL Brew Monday event will take place at Jelleymans Heritage Arts Charity (JHAC) to combat ‘Blue Monday’.
The day, this year on Monday, January 19, is billed as the most depressing day of the year because of several factors.
These include the often cold days, dark nights and less daylight, debt and the amount of time since Christmas with many people ‘still paying off the festive season’, the length of time between pay days and failed quit attempts from new year’s resolutions, health kicks and fitness regimes.
People also have low motivational levels at this time of year.
At JHAC on Monday, between 10am and 2pm, there will be a warm welcome, free hot drinks and mental health signposting in the local area.
There will also be some free resources along with useful tools and reading materials available to look through to offer compassion and care at a difficult time of year.
Everyone is welcome to the event which has been organised by JHAC in conjunction with Empryrean Therapies and The Bungalow Cafe.
