CANNABIS plants were found at a Stourport industrial estate unit after community concerns about suspicious behaviour.

Police executed a drugs warrant at an industrial unit on the Sandy Lane estate in Stourport on Wednesday, December 17.

Officers from Wyre Forest Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) were supported by Task Force and CID teams at the raid.

Inside the building, they found a quantity of cannabis plants at various stages of maturity and an electrical rig that had bypassed the original power supply to the unit.

No one was inside the property, and no arrests were made, but enquiries are ongoing into the grow.

Police Sergeant Matt Ling of Stourport SNT said: “We executed a warrant at an industrial unit this morning following intelligence developed after community concerns around a suspected cannabis grow.

“We did find a grow and those plants have been removed to be destroyed now, disrupting this illegal drugs operation.

“Cannabis grows are often tied to organised crime groups, whose activities fuel further criminality, including modern slavery.

“Tackling these operations is vital to protecting our communities and keeping them safe from harm.”
