WYRE Forest District Council has released the changes to Christmas bin collection times in Kidderminster, Stourport and Bewdley over Christmas and new year.

Residents who would normally have their rubbish collected on Christmas Day will have an earlier collection on Monday, December 22.

Those affected can put out one extra black sack with their next rubbish collection on Thursday, January 8.

Collections due on Boxing Day will now take place on Monday, December 29, and these residents can put out one extra black sack with their collection.

The recycling collections, which would normally be on New Year’s Day, will take place on Monday, January 5.

People have been urged to make sure their bins are out by 6am on their collection day.

The hub, the council’s customer service centre, will close to visitors from 5pm on Tuesday, December 23 and won’t reopen until 9am on Monday, January 5.

Household recycling centres in the district, managed by Worcestershire County Council, will be closed for Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.

Wyre Forest District Council leader Coun Marcus Hart said: “On behalf of Wyre Forest District Council, I would like to wish all our residents a very merry Christmas and a happy new year.

“2025 has been a very successful year for the council, with two of our major regeneration projects, The Old Court and the Piano Building in Kidderminster, being completed.

“Work also got under way on our National Heritage Lottery-funded improvement project at Brinton Park, which is due to be completed next year.

“2026 will also see the Urban Park in Worcester Street, Kidderminster, opened. There’s a lot to look forward to and I would like to thank all the staff for their hard work delivering important services on behalf of residents, businesses and visitors.

“My thanks also to our key partners and the volunteers we work with across the district. Wishing you all the very best for 2026.”
