THE SMASH HIT musical ‘We Will Rock You’ is being performed this week at The Civic in Stourport.
Performances of the show, brought to the stage by theatre group ‘Limelight’ take place at 7.30pm each night until Saturday, November 15.
There is also a matinee tomorrow at 2.30pm.
The group was given permission to perform the West End show ahead of the latest general amateur release to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Queen’s ground-breaking Bohemian Rhapsody.
The musical spectacular, written by Ben Elton, is based on the songs of Queen and, over the years, has become, an all-time favourite.
The programme features 24 of the band’s best-loved hits, including We Are The Champions, Radio Ga Ga, Don’t Stop Me Now and, of course, Bohemian Rhapsody.
The production is ‘guaranteed to blow your mind’ as it tells the story of a group known as the Bohemians who struggle to restore the free exchange of thought and culture in a vaguely Orwellian society.
Director and choreographer, Jane Bennett, who is no stranger to Wyre Forest audiences, said: “It is a sensational show, from the lighting and tech to the incredible performances – it’s going down a storm this week.“
There are still a few tickets available – so people are urged to book as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
The experienced and popular cast includes Jamie Attwell as Galileo, Harriet Edwards as Scaramouche, Jade Foster as Oz, Richard Walker as Brit, Zoe Darkes as Killer Queen, Doug Forester as Kashoggi, Alex Thompson as Buddy and Kerry Wharton as Teacher.
