Could you offer a helping hand? - Plenty of roles on offer at Kidderminster Volunteer Fair

Tristan Harris 31st May, 2026

RESIDENTS will be able to find out more about a host of volunteer roles across Wyre Forest at a special fair taking place this week.

The Kidderminster Job Centre Volunteering Fair will be held from 10am to 12.30pm on Wednesday, June 3, at Kidderminster Library.

The event has been organised by Wyre Forest District Council, Citizen’s Advice Wyre Forest and Kidderminster Job Centre.

The fair is free to attend and will give people the chance to chat with a wide range of local organisations about volunteering opportunities that fit around their lives. Whether they are exploring work experience or simply want to support their community, visitors will be able to find out more about a host of roles.

Wyre Forest District Council will be at the fair with information about its volunteer litter picking scheme, Adopt a Street, as well as details of how residents can help care for local nature reserves through ranger volunteering opportunities.

Volunteer rangers can get involved in a wide range of outdoor activities – from restoring habitats and learning traditional skills such as hedge-laying to improving footpaths, repairing livestock fences and helping wildlife-rich spaces thrive. The group meets from 10am to 3pm every Wednesday and Thursday at a different nature reserve each week.

Coun Tracey Onslow, Wyre Forest District Council’s cabinet member for Culture, Leisure, Arts and Community Safety said: “Volunteering is a fantastic way to support your community, build confidence and learn new skills and this fair is the perfect place to discover what could suit you.

“I would encourage anyone interested in making a positive difference locally to come along to Kidderminster Library on Wednesday, June 3, to find out how they can get started.”
