Dare you ride the spooky Ghost and Scream Trains on the Severn Valley Railway?

SPOOKS and scares will call at the Severn Valley Railway when the highly-anticipated annual Ghost and Scream Train services run.

The historic Kidderminister Town Railway Station is set for an eerie atmosphere between October 30 and November 1 – during half-term and Halloween.

Both the spooktacular Ghost Train and Steam Train journeys from Kidderminster to Arley and back last around 75 minutes.

Following the Arley line, passengers will venture through haunted stations which will become ‘the home of the living dead’ with hordes of ghostly undead characters roaming the platforms.

Ghost Trains depart from Kidderminster Station at 5pm, 5.55pm and 6.50pm on October 30 and at 5.55pm, 6.50pm and 7.45pm on October 31 and November 1.

Tickets include a goodie bag for every child.




The Scream Trains are strictly for over 18s and feature a live DJ set from Disco Daddy which will provide suitably spooky entertainment from 4pm to 9pm.

The train departs from Kidderminster at 7.45pm on October 31.

Lewis Maddox, SVR’s visitor engagement manager, said: “The Ghost and Scream Trains are among our most distinctive events of the year.

“The response from visitors is always fantastic, and it’s wonderful to see so many people returning year after year to be thoroughly terrified.”

He added the service combined theatrical performance, lighting and sound effects which created a unique, hair-raising Halloween experience.
