WITH the new-look Kidderminster Town Hall set to reopen following a £11.5million refurbishment, an exciting programme of events has been announced, writes Isabel Matthews.

Imagine Lennon – a tribute to John Lennon – will take place on October 18 and ‘From the Jam’ – another tribute – will perform at the town hall on October 31.
One for younger viewers, Spot’s Birthday Party will be on November 6 and the official civic reopening takes place the following day.

On December 7, there will be Santa’s New Sleigh and, two days later, the Severn Arts Concert.
Mud will perform on December 12 and Country Roads will take to the stage on December 13.
And, in the run-up to Christmas, there will be plenty of festive fun and live entertainment.
The Gingerbread Boy will walk in on December 14, Kidderminster Male Choir will take centre stage on December 19, Kidderminster Choral Society performs on December 20 and ABBA Merry Christmas will be belting out the classics on December 21. Tickets for some of these events are now on sale, and tickets for others will be coming soon.
The refurbishment of the Grade II listed building has been described by Kidderminster Town Council as a ‘game changer’ for the town.
New artwork
An eye-catching mural created by James Howorth which depicts famous or well-known people and places in Kidderminster and the surrounding area will take pride of place in the new-look venue.
The inspirational creation has also prompted Kidderminster Town Council to launch a competition which gives readers the chance to enter a prize draw to win four tickets for shows of their choice.
All they need to do is name all of the people in the picture and submit it to Kidderminster Town Council via the authority’s Facebook page.
The winner will be selected on September 26 and contacted via Facebook.
